Project Overview

A2F Consulting supported the World Bank in assessing rural poverty and sustainable landscape management in Argentina, with a focus on the Chaco and Yungas eco-regions. The project aimed to generate evidence to inform policies and programs that enhance ecosystem resilience and improve the livelihoods of rural communities.

Work Developed

• Designed and implemented a large-scale household survey covering over 1,400 rural households across multiple provinces
• Assessed poverty levels, livelihoods, and land-use practices, including forest resource utilization
• Developed data collection instruments aligned with national statistical standards
• Conducted in-depth analysis of socioeconomic conditions and environmental practices
• Delivered recommendations to improve sustainable land management and support vulnerable communities

The assignment was carried out over 14 months and combined field data collection with rigorous analysis. The results provided a robust evidence base to support policy dialogue on sustainable landscape management and contributed to the design of programs aimed at improving both environmental outcomes and rural livelihoods in Argentina.
