Project Overview
A2F Consulting supported the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) in conducting due diligence and supporting the design of the Malawi II Compact, with a focus on the Accelerated Growth Corridors (AGC) and Land Projects. The objective was to assess investment viability, strengthen agricultural value chains, and identify opportunities to mobilize private sector participation.
Work Developed
- Conducted comprehensive due diligence, including land demand assessments, agricultural sector analysis, and evaluation of blended finance opportunities
- Assessed private sector demand and identified a pipeline of domestic and international investors for inclusive agricultural development
- Designed and evaluated alternative implementation approaches for the AGC project, including detailed activity frameworks
- Delivered large-scale stakeholder data collection, including surveys of agribusinesses, smallholder farmers, enterprises, and community representatives
- Provided recommendations to mobilise underutilised land and integrate smallholders and women into commercial value chains
The assignment was delivered over 12 months and combined analytical studies with extensive field data collection. A2F supported project definition and final design by assessing implementation feasibility and developing actionable strategies to attract investment and promote inclusive growth in Malawi’s agricultural sector.
