Project Overview

A2F Consulting supported the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Bahamas in designing and implementing a digital strategy framework and FinTech platform under the Accelerate Bahamas! program. The project aimed to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem by improving access to finance, enhancing digital capabilities, and modernising business support services.

Work Developed

• Assessed SBDC’s business model, processes, and funding mechanisms to identify automation and digitalisation opportunities
• Designed a comprehensive digital strategy framework addressing ecosystem gaps and strengthening service delivery
• Developed and implemented a credit guarantee FinTech platform, including a PFI marketplace
• Facilitated stakeholder consultations with financial institutions and internal teams to refine processes and system requirements
• Enabled automation of credit guarantee application processes and improved data collection and reporting capabilities

The assignment was delivered over 8 months and combined strategic advisory with system development. A2F supported the digital transformation of SBDC operations, enabling more efficient service delivery and improved access to finance for small businesses through an integrated FinTech solution.
