Project Overview

A2F Consulting supported the World Bank in assessing opportunities for the economic inclusion of youth and women in high-potential value chains in Togo. The project aimed to identify pathways to increase employment, productivity, and income for target populations across key agricultural sectors.

Work Developed

• Conducted in-depth analysis of three high-potential value chains: ginger, shea, and red pepper
• Mapped market structures to assess the roles, participation, and constraints of youth and women across value chain stages
• Identified key stakeholders, market dynamics, and institutional actors influencing value chain development
• Analyzed legal, social, and economic barriers limiting participation and job accessibility for target populations
• Developed recommendations to enhance job creation, improve productivity, and support inclusive value chain development

The assignment was implemented over 8 months and combined market analysis with stakeholder engagement to generate actionable insights. A2F delivered evidence-based recommendations to support the Government of Togo in strengthening value chains and promoting sustainable economic inclusion for youth and women.
